The God of Lost Things

photograph by Wojtek Mejor

Skate pads and binoculars.

They are sitting in my closet.

I’ve collected these things from you.

Memories of falling in the park,

And watching the game and

Each moment in song.

A chorus that sings of

We were never given back.

To prove Polonius right or

To complain of dirty hands.

The dust that sits,

Waiting, waiting.
